How my Colour Analysis Sessions Work

Luxe Colour Analysis

Colour analysis is the process of identifying the tones and shades that naturally complement your undertone. During your personalised 1:1 session, we’ll explore a curated range of drapes to discover your seasonal colour palette—Spring, Summer, Autumn, or Winter—and your most flattering shades within it. We take it a step further and use the 16 tonal method, we find your subseason -your dominant characteristic within your home season.

You’ll leave with a deep understanding of which colours make you look brighter, fresher, and more radiant—and which ones to avoid. From clothing and makeup to accessories and hair colour, your custom palette becomes your personal style guide, making shopping easier and dressing more joyful.

This isn’t just about colours—it’s about confidence.

The Process

  • Fabric Draping

Use colour analysis flags, drapes and capes to determine your home season. By the end of this section we will be able to place you as a Winter, Summer, Autumn or Spring.

  • Subseason Discovery

Following the tonal method, this part is where I use the flags and drapes to determine your dominant characteristc ie. you’re subseason. For example: Deep Winter, Bright Winter, Cool Winter or True Winter.

  • Makeup Application

    Makeup Application

Now that we know your season we will apply light touch makeup featuring Charlotte Tilbury products. We will place you in skincare prep, foundation, the correct tonal blusher, eyeshadow, lippy and mascara in your new season.

  • All Fabric Draping

Once you are in your soft glam featuring your season’s colours, we run through all of the drapes in your home season (Winter, Summer, Autumn & Spring) and call out your subseason colours, commonly known as your WOW colours.

For example if you are a soft autumn, I will place the entire autumn pallet on you but I will call out your best ones (the soft ones) so you can see that autumn suits, but the soft colours within the autumn pallet are even better!

  • Luxe Goodie Bag

  • Absolutely! You're more than welcome to bring a friend along to observe your colour analysis appointment. It can be a fun and insightful experience to share—and they might even get inspired to book their own session!

  • I use the tonal method, which is the most precise and accurate approach to colour analysis. We identify your home season first, then refine it further by pinpointing your dominant characteristic. This creates a more exact placement, often overlapping with your sister season, so your colours look natural, harmonious, and effortlessly flattering.

  • Here you can purchase the tonal fabric swatch books for the most accurate colour guidance. In addition, you’ll receive a complimentary PDF booklet featuring your digital palette, along with a mini swatch card for easy, on-the-go reference.
